Information Architecture for a large, complex organisation
Ingram Micro Australia
Ingram Micro is an global distributor of information technology projects and services. I worked within Ingram Micro's Australia's marketing and design team that served as both an internal function and an agency with several major clients such as Hewlett Packard, Lenovo, Dell, Microsoft and more. I also worked on a number of internal projects, including the re-design of the corporate website for Australia.
Skills: Requirements gathering, workshops, information architecture, wireframing, visual design and prototyping.
Simplifying a Complex Organisation
With a multitude of services and product categories, I worked with senior managers to map out the business structure and determine what should and shouldn't be included in the corporate website. This involved weekly meetings with various business leaders and workshops to develop and coherent picture of the organisation.
Once mapping was complete I then devised a template structure and created wireframes to outline the placelement of elements such as headings, banners, body content and CTAs.
Design and Prototyping
I then created working HTML pages that included final design styling to help communicate to management what the website would look like and also to pass to development for integration with a CMS.
